Purpose, vision and values

The Pensions Regulator (TPR) is the public body that protects workplace pensions in the UK, working with employers and those running pensions so that people can save safely for their retirement.

Millions of people save money into a workplace pension to provide them with income in later life. Our job is to make those workplace pensions work for savers.

We do that by ensuring pension schemes are well run and well-governed, and that employers put their workers into a good quality pension scheme and pay in what they need to.

Our vision is to be a strong, agile, fair, and efficient regulator. Through this we seek to gain the respect of employers, trustees, and other stakeholders.
