Learning and development
We pride ourselves on our culture of continuous learning and development. The digital, data and technology industry is moving at a fast pace, and working at TPR allows you to develop a range of skills through working with different teams and directorates.
We want people to take an active role in their own development and can offer formal training and qualifications, secondments, and apprenticeships to support people in doing this. Nearly 30% of our vacancies are filled internally and we believe this reflects our commitment to developing and retaining our people.
We recognise that not all career pathways run in a straight line. We also offer informal mentoring and other development opportunities to enable our colleagues to reach their career aspirations, whatever those might be.
Climate and sustainability
We have set an ambitious target for net zero emissions against our operations by 2030 and work is underway to ensure we deliver on that commitment.
Pension trustees are considering the impacts of climate change, from how it affects asset to opportunities arising from the shift to low carbon economies. Our Climate Change Strategy sets out our approach to influencing this important debate and driving trustee action. It also sets out how we take part in the transition.
Testimonials
Alyssa Yew – Data Science Intern
“TPR has made me feel supported in many ways. As an intern, I have had multiple exposures to different experiences by taking on projects. TPR helped me become a well-rounded data scientist by improving both my technical and soft skills. Throughout this journey, I have received countless support from my team and my manager, creating a safe environment for me to ask questions and allow myself to flourish.
Technology is the trend nowadays, and by working in DDaT, the line of work is so exhilarating with everything changing, with exciting new projects coming your way. There are just endless things to learn. As a placement student who is trying to develop a career in tech, TPR has laid a solid foundation of technology knowledge and how it is being applied commercially. This is something you don’t get from textbooks.”
Doug Parkinson-Rich – Lead Solutions Architect
“The recent organisational changes are a great opportunity to look at changes to our culture and mindset to really help us focus on the future and different ways of marking to make us more pro-active and flexible.
We understand the value that different views and experience can create so ensure everyone is comfortable giving their opinion on any topic, regardless on if they are a specialist or someone completely new to the subject. We have very open discussions and team meetings that include everyone, as well as bringing in outside support/knowledge if required.”
